Open House with Lovely Nelly

Join us for our annual Open House where we host a concert for community members and invite everyone out to explore Historic St. Mary’s for our summer opening. We will have our infamous strawberry shortcake, other snacks and beverages on sale in our Pavilion and Lovely Nelly will be spinning reels from 1pm-3pm in our hall.

About the artists:
Lovely Nelly is Colin Jeffrey (fiddle, vocals), Mark Douglas (small pipes, whistles) and Claudie Mackula (vocals, guitar). We offer the unusual blend of Scottish small pipes and fiddle, supported by creative guitar accompaniment. Building on this unique sound foundation, we weave our individual musical lines together to create multiple layers of harmony and diverse arrangements of tunes and songs. Our music is centered in the Scottish and Cape Breton traditions, but we reach beyond these to draw inspiration from other Celtic regions as well.
