Volunteer with Us!

Donate Your Time to be a Volunteer!

We are now seeking volunteers for our 2025 season! Read below for more information & how to apply to volunteer with UTS.

One of the reasons our organization flourishes is due to our wonderful volunteers. They play a crucial role in helping to create the endearing, heartwarming environment that Under the Spire is known for.  If you have spare hours to help out or you wish to get involved on a more regular basis, we would love to hear from you. We truly value your gift of time!

Read below for base information about volunteering at UTS. A more detailed overview is available here in our volunteer manual.

Base Information

Under the Spire’s concert season runs from mid-June to mid-September, annually.

While we welcome volunteer inquiries year-round, we begin actively searching for new and returning volunteers each spring to join our Under the Spire team for the upcoming season.

A training session will take place prior to the opening of the season, and volunteer shifts will be signed up for on a monthly basis throughout the summer.

Positions Available

Usher volunteers – Our house volunteers help to keep events running smoothly at Historic St. Mary’s, and are the first faces you see when entering the building! They will greet guests at the door, assist with scanning tickets and locating seats, help to sell merchandise and raffle tickets, assist as needed with post-concert closing duties, and be an ambassador for Under the Spire!.

Pavilion volunteers – We have a variety of duties in the pavilion including cash attendants, coffee & food servers, and bartenders. The pavilion is open prior to concerts and during intermission so guests can grab a drink, snack or some other goodies!

Parking Attendants – Our venue can fill up quickly! To help everyone stay organized and ease congestion when leaving the venue, our parking attendants facilitate the entrance of cars onto our grounds and help maintain an organized parking system.

Perks of Being a Volunteer!
– You will be a part of a wonderful team of community-minded volunteers and staff!
– You get to hear some amazing music while volunteering!
– You will be invited to our annual Volunteer’s Dinner at the end of the season!

– Membership via volunteerism. Volunteering for 2+ shifts will grant you Membership at UTS.
– Free tickets! For every 2 volunteer shifts worked, you will be able to redeem 1 concert ticket.

– Special discount on all UTS merchandise.
– STUDENTS! Volunteer for 2 shifts and get 2 free tickets. Hours volunteered can be counted towards your Duke or Edinburgh program or Community Service Bursary.
