Before the 30-show season we’re familiar with today, the concert series at St Mary’s began in the 80’s as ‘Sundays in the Summer’ – a classical music installment on Sunday afternoons during the summer months. As time passed, the audience grew in size and demand for various types of music were met with a sense of excitement.
The evolution of Under the Spire’s concert series comes with a long list of people to thank for its success, including previous staff, board members and musicians. There are many stories and unforgettable musical moments that have happened over the years, and we feel that these memories should be accessible to everyone wishing to learn more about the history of this concert series and the organization.
We are so pleased to announce that programs, posters and various promotional materials from past seasons are now available for digital viewing. We have various collections of materials, going back to 1988, that have been scanned and uploaded to our Google Drive database. Discover past performers, events, and unlock the history of our beloved concert series.
The archival folder can be accessed using the link located here. Happy viewing!
