IRF Mixtape – Christmas Edition ft Fred & Gisele Martin

November 27, 2020 by Noelle Pettipas

Welcome to the Christmas edition of our IRF Mixtape Series. For the next four weeks, we’ll share holiday playlists by special guest curators. This week features IRF’s Board Chair Fred Martin and his wife Gisele – one of our valued volunteers. Keep reading for a note from The Martin’s and the link to their playlist.

Music for us is everywhere. We enjoy attending weekend-long music festivals and enjoy the eclectic music offerings of the Indian River Festival. Fred enjoys singing for residents of local seniors’ homes. When the grandchildren are around – there’s always lively singing, often accompanied by Grandpa on the banjo after dinner and before bedtime.

You can see in our selections, there is considerable influence of Atlantic and Canadian musicians. Some of the selections are songs which Fred enjoyed singing at various churches around the Island with his men’s gospel choir – Men of the Harvest. It was hard to narrow down our choices but we’ve selected some of our favourites. We hope you enjoy.
