The BEST three East Coast classical musicians from the Kiwanis Festival will play 15 minute sets and compete to win the Robert Kortgaard Award. See more about the award and Robert Kortgaard here: The Robert Kortgaard Award for Youth Musical Excellence – Under the Spire
Joining us for a very special set, Harmonia is Sirens Choral Association’s principal educational program for youth between the ages of 10-19. Having fun, making new friends, and discovering the joys of singing in a group setting, Harmonia is a community where everyone can feel safe to find their voices through music. Under the leadership of Kelsea McLean, artistic director, and Andrea Ellis, assistant director and pianist, Harmonia’s programming includes two choirs: Harmonia Junior for youth aged 10-14, and Harmonia Senior for youth aged 14-19.
In past seasons, Harmonia has participated in local music festivals, earning the Community Youth Choir Award in 2017 and 2018 at the Queen’s County Music Festival. Additionally, they won the Connie and Bud Ings Award for Youth Choir at the PEI Kiwanis Music Festival in 2018. Harmonia has collaborated with Sirens and the PEI Symphony Orchestra, and has performed at Province House, Under the Spire Festival, Music Monday, and PEI Junior Honour Choir events.
