FOSM Annual General Meeting

September 4, 2026 by Hannah Jay

Greetings from the Friends of St Mary’s.

We are reconnecting to update you on our organization’s plans to restart our activities and
rejuvenate our organization.

Although our last formal Annual Meeting was held in August of 2021 when COVID was upon
us, a core group of Members undertook to keep the organization’s records safe and
properly registered.

With next year being the 125th anniversary of St Mary’s Church, it is the right time to
revitalize the Friends of St Mary’s so that we can honour the history of the Church and the
memory of the many generations before us who played an active role in its construction
and sense of community around it.

Not only being an iconic example of William Critchlow Harris architecture on PEI, but St
Mary’s also has a deep historical meaning for families in the community and for many
former residents who moved away from PEI years ago.

As an organization tasked with the responsibility to assist with the preservation of the
Church and provide guidance over its use, we feel it is most important to reach out for your
support by renewing your Membership or becoming a new Member.

We humbly ask you to consider becoming a Voting Member which includes a $20.00 annual
membership fee. As a Voting Member you can participate in Board decisions and help
shape our organization with new ideas and initiatives.

Any donation that is not for the purpose of a membership fee, will receive a Federal
Charitable Donation tax receipt. A membership form and payment details are included in
this email.

The membership fee or any donation can be E-Transferred to our account through our
Gmail account:
friendsofstmarysassociation@gmail.com

or you can make a cheque payable to and mail to:
Friends of St Mary’s Church Indian River Association Inc.
1720 Hamilton Road
PO Box 671
Kensington PEI
C0B 1M0

Our next Annual General Meeting will be held 7:00PM on Sept 23, 2026, at St Mary’s
Church.
The meeting is open to the public.

The main goals are to bring on new Members and re- establish the Board Executive. Of
course, this meeting, which is open to the public, will be an opportunity to learn more about
The Friends of St Mary’s and add any insight you may have.
In closing, we sincerely appreciate your consideration to becoming a Member or if you
wish, simply providing a donation to help. Please complete the section below.

Many thanks

Friends of St Mary’s Church Indian River Association Inc.
