SoupFest is a long standing and well attended ticketed community event hosted by Under the Spire, with 2026 marking its 15th year. The event brings together approximately 5 to 6 local chefs and restaurants to showcase a variety of fall inspired soups, accompanied by local biscuits. Guests sample each soup and vote for their favourite.
The event also features live music, creating a welcoming fall atmosphere while celebrating local food, music, and culinary talent. This year we will be joined by the Tiffany Liu Trio for a performance located in Historic St. Mary’s.
Attendance generally exceeds 100 guests annually, demonstrating strong community interest and providing participating vendors with an opportunity to showcase their businesses.
The 2026 event will take place on September 27th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, with setup beginning at 12:00 PM. In previous years, Under the Spire has provided each participating restaurant with a $125 ingredient stipend. For 2026, this stipend will increase to $150 per participating restaurant.
Each participating restaurant will also receive two complimentary tickets to an available Under the Spire 2027 show of their choice. The winning restaurant will receive two additional complimentary tickets, for a total of four tickets, along with the Golden Ladle and SoupFest bragging rights.
