The Board of Directors of the Indian River Festival is pleased to announce the selection of Lindsay Connolly as the new Executive Director.
“I speak for the entire board when I say that we are thrilled to have Lindsay return home and lead our Festival. The excitement is building towards ‘Welcoming Back’ concert lovers to beautiful St Mary’s Church,” says Fred Martin, Indian River Festival Board Chair.
Lindsay is a PEI-born musician and arts administrator who focuses on creating an inclusive environment prioritizing arts sustainability and fostering strong community relationships. A graduate of McGill University and University of Toronto, Lindsay completed her masters of music under a Joseph Armand Bombardier SHHRC scholarship for research into gender and performance. Outside of her studies Lindsay has performed with Opera Nova Scotia, the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, the Toronto Creative Music Lab, College Light Opera Company, and has assistant directed at the Segal Centre. Equally comfortable on stage and off, Lindsay is a current fellow with the Association for Opera in Canada and has worked as an arts administrator and grant writer with ensembles such as Musique3Femmes, Opera5 and 23DegreeTheatre. Lindsay is thrilled to be returning to beautiful Epekwitk and joining the Indian River Festival team for what will be a memorable Island-centred season!
“St. Mary’s is one of the most acoustically and visually beautiful venues on the Island with a rich history of sharing experiences through music. I hope to help every Islander experience the magic of musical connection that happens at the Indian River Festival,” says Lindsay.
Lindsay starts her role as Executive Director on March 29, 2021.
