The Indian River Festival offers a summer long series of concerts in a magnificent heritage church set within sight of beautiful Malpeque Bay. The Festival provides audiences with the very best in folk, jazz, blues, classical, traditional, choral and contemporary music all in the world class acoustical setting of Historic St. Mary’s, Indian River. The 2021 season runs from June 20 – September 10. We are looking for two talented and creative individuals to join the IRF team! More information for both positions can be found below.

Box Office Supervisor
We’re seeking a seasonal Box Office Supervisor who is interested in pursuing a career in arts and culture. The position will provide the opportunity to gain an understanding of arts, event and venue management. Our box office is located in Historic St. Mary’s Church, 1374 Hamilton Road, Indian River and box office hours are normally 12pm-4pm daily and 1 hour prior to showtime. Under the direction of the Office & Concert Manager, the Box Office Supervisor will:
- Manage all tasks related to ticket sales including processing ticket orders, responding to customer inquiries, and balancing all sales;
- Liaise with office staff re: coordination of tickets, sponsor ticket requirements, media, benefactors and VIP ticketing etc.
- Manage ticket reconciliation each day at box office and work with office bookkeeper;
- Become familiar with upcoming events at the Festival including the artists and type of music to be performed;
- Assist with various marketing tasks including social media updates, PSAs, and monthly ENewsletters under the supervision of the Executive Director
- Become familiar with tools and equipment for the position (Little Green Light, ShowPass and ticket printer, google drive, etc)
- Manage tasks as required to assist in the execution of the 2021 events and concerts and the smooth operation of all Box office equipment and physical office surroundings.
- Assist in box office report writing
- Lead a small team of volunteers.
You are:
- Familiar with ticketing systems (Showpass) OR comfortable with similar systems
- A fast learner, and comfortable working independently or with others.
- Familiar with google docs, dropbox and/ or other shared document platforms
- Friendly and professional and comfortable working with the public in a fast paced environment;
- Comfortable working with the public and embrace a “salesperson” attitude

Office & Concert Manager
The Office & Concert Manager is an integral part of the organization’s management team and is
responsible for all logistical aspects of the Association’s annual events and provides administrative support and leadership in order to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
Working across multiple departments, the ideal candidate is an energetic professional who doesn’t mind wearing multiple hats. Experienced in handling a wide range of event and administrative tasks and able to work independently with little or no supervision. The ideal candidate will have a high level of organization and precision in their work scope. This person also has a passion for the arts and community and has experience working with non-profit organizations and events.
This is a full time flexible position (30-35 hours/week) June to September and pays $18/hour. Must be able to work evenings and weekends June to September.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Plan, coordinate, and execute events of the Indian River Festival
• Act as the staff lead on all festival and event logistics, hospitality, artist relations, transportation, accommodations etc.
• Support and oversee support staff and volunteers including recruitment, orientation and training.
• Build and maintain ticketing, box office operations and reporting for all events for Indian River Festival Association
• Assist with monitoring of ticket sales, reports and maintenance of ticketing system
• Maintain accurate box office accounting records and archives
• Effectively communicate with varied stakeholders regarding event logistics, providing stellar customer service and troubleshooting as necessary
• Commitment to compliance with all insurance, legal, health, and safety obligations for the events of the organization including the outdoor pavilion
• Provide administrative support for the association including assist in implementing systems to improve and maintain daily operations ensuring organizational effectiveness and efficiency
• Provide support in various administrative tasks including website maintenance, assisting in preparing final reports, assist in marketing and communications (as required) and general accounting tasks in support of the Association’s Bookkeeper
Requirements
• Experience planning events.
• Experience managing staff or leadership volunteers.
• Proficiency in detail-oriented project management, working independently to manage
multiple projects at once.
• Ability to provide leadership and demonstrate motivational and team building skills.
• Ability to prioritize, organize, problem solve, delegate, follow-up, and communicate.
• Must be able to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
• General management of technology and information management systems.
• Knowledge of ticketing and CRM software.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders and build community relationships.
• Ability to work weekends and evenings.
