Shane Pendergast has folk music in his blood. Hailing from a long lineage of storytellers and musicians in Prince Edward Island, he is keeping the Maritime folk tradition alive with his honest and insightful compositions. From acclaimed folk festivals across the world to the small halls of PEI, Shane has cemented himself as one of Atlantic Canada’s finest folk troubadours. His 2021 album ‘Second Wind” won Contemporary Roots Album of the Year at the Music PEI Awards. Shane is the founder and host of The Jack Pine Folk Club, a monthly performance series of music and poetry.

Issu d’une longue lignée de conteurs et de musiciens de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard, il perpétue la tradition folklorique des Maritimes grâce à ses compositions honnêtes et perspicaces. Des festivals folk acclamés dans le monde entier aux petites salles de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard, Shane s’est imposé comme l’un des meilleurs troubadours folk du Canada atlantique. Son album “Second Wind”, sorti en 2021, a remporté le prix de l’album roots contemporain de l’année aux Music PEI Awards. Shane est le fondateur et l’animateur du Jack Pine Folk Club, une série de spectacles mensuels de musique et de poésie.
